I was finally able to take a tour of Trilogy Lake Norman, North Carolina's newest active lifestyle community located just 30 minutes north of Charlotte, NC.  There isn't a lot to see onsite at the moment but they do have the model home park under construction and framed.  The first houses are set to be finished with a move in date around late April or early May.  This is not going to be a typical retirement community but instead is being designed as a 55+ older resort style gated community.

Trilogy Lake Norman is being built by Shea Homes and will rest on 660 acres in Lincoln County, NC.  They are currently planning to build 1,150 homes in the community.  They also have the first right of refusal on a 220 acre piece of property that is adjacent to the community that could house an additional 500 homes.

Houses are being offered starting in the mid $250,000's for a base 1,364 sq.ft. 2 bedroom, 2bath, 2 car garage and go up to $450,000 for 2,834 sq.ft. 3 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom, den, 2 car garage.  Most buyers will add 15%-20% of their base price in upgrades.   The houses can also be built with a sunroom, covered patio and even a loft in 7 of their 10 floor plans.
