Delayed Opening for Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino and Hotel in Murphy NC
Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino and Hotel in Murphy NC has been delayed for the much anticipated August opening. While General Manager, Lumpy Lambert, has said they are progressing on the timeline for the project and the infrastructure and building is being is being completed, there are still final details to be worked out with Cherokee County for services.
We had been called and were told that it would be a November Opening and then there was also a rumor going around that the Casino was two months behind schedule. Now they are also stating that instead of the Casino opening first and then the Hotel to follow a month later, that now the Hotel and Gaming Floor will open at the same time.
The bridge from the highway into the property is almost completed and the DOT has been working on getting up the traffic light.
So, the local Cherokee Scout newspaper says the "Casino eyes late September opening", but we'll keep an ear out and let you know how things progress.
