You HAVE to check out this tool which allows you to enter your zip code and discover all kinds of interesting things about those who occupy the same zip code as you!
Within this site, readily available information on such things as the social, demographic, educational and income averages of your fellow zip coders is available. For instance, my zip code, one of the largest in the state of Maryland is comprised of 42% "Savvy Suburbanites, 31% "Professional Pride, and 14% Soccer Moms. SO WHAT?
Here's a picture of my area!
Well, for starters, business folks armed with this data should be making important and relevant decisions about whom to market and the content of the marketing. My zip code has a bunch of empty nesters, so wouldn't it be a great idea for me as a realtor to market to those looking to move or give counsel in public forums on such topics as "How To Downsize Without Losing Your Mind"!
In addition, to those who are considering moving to central Maryland for professional , business and /or educational opportunities, it is a great tool to help determine your next destination. I talk to folks all the time who are moving to the suburban Maryland, metro Baltimore/DC area who are interested to roost with folks with similar education and income levels.
The other big draw for those coming to this area is the reputation of the fine school systems. Ranking high in national polls, Maryland schools are blessed by relatively high earners, supportive colleges and universities and local amenities such as fantastic libraries.
I know that in my home county of Howard, successive administrations have been committed to the best public libraries. This commitment, in turn, attracts those citizens who are committed to the best educational environment for their children.
Some other great information such as median age and population density round out the terrific information offered here. Check it out! For other real estate information, also check out my website: www.suburbanmdhomes.com
