Summertime is great for enjoying time with family and friends as well as completing those tasks around the house that might otherwise get overlooked. Your home is a big investment, and it needs maintenance just like your vehicle. Here are a few July tips that you can do to keep your home in tip top shape.
Home Interior – Clean Your Water Purification Filters. Your water filters need to be changed, on average, every 6 months. You want to ensure that you and your family are getting clean, purified water. Eventually all water filters lose their effectiveness and become compounded with the minerals found in our water. You might need to change your filters more often depending on the usage for your household.
Home Exterior – Check Your Driveway for Cracks. Over time, asphalt and concrete driveways develop cracks from erosion and continuous freezing and thawing. It's critical to regularly inspect the driveway for any fissures that may be developing. If left unaddressed, small cracks can become big issues down the road.
Outdoors – Have Your Trees Checked by an Arborist. If a tree is not cared for properly, it can become a liability to your home. Diseased trees can fall on your home or vehicle causing substantial damage. If you have any trees in your yard that are starting to lean, or you see a crack in the bark, you should call an arborist to see if the tree needs to be cut down or not. It is better to be proactive than reactive, and have to deal with repairing your home.
