Home ownership is back on the top of the list for most Americans when they speak of the American Dream. This is a positive change considering how taboo it had become just a few years ago. Home prices in most areas are at or near the value seen in 2008 when the bottom fell out of the the real estate market. Home prices continued rising for the next two years but sales numbers fell off the table.
Homes are once again selling at pre-recession numbers as consumer confidence has returned and interest rates remain well below normal. Many fear that another bubble has been created but if history repeats, home prices should continue to rise for another seven or so years. The last time the real estate market crashed it dropped about 33%. During that recovery home prices not only returned to pre-crash prices but went up an additional 225%.
We will hopefully have a much more stable recovery this time. The lending institutions and government should have learned this time around not to stimulate buyers with such incentives as zero down, stated income, negative amortization and the other ridiculous programs previously utilized.

There is a top quality pool home on a third of an acre in Stevenson Ranch with 5 bedroom and over 3,500 sq. ft. that should be on the market shortly. There is another Stevenson Ranch home priced around $550,000 that could be on the market in the upcoming weeks. There are homes in Valencia's West Creek community which offers the only school with an international program that may be available towards the end of Summer.
