Google To Start Moving Away From Google+

Just read on TechCrunch that Google will be starting to remove the requirement of having a Google+ account from it's services like YouTube over the coming month.

I have been trying to figure out Google+ for years now and it remains the least productive social network for me, so I have no problem with it.

The idea of Authorship with Google+ and ranking on Google with your content about two years ago was a great concept, but that did not last long either.

In my opinion Google is usually very good at taking an idea that already exists and making a better "Google" version of it...or just buying the company outright.

Google+ however in my opinion has never really taken off. What are your thoughts?

Keys to Real Estate Leads also offers a course that teaches agents how to dominate and stand out from the crowed in the noisy online world as well as helping agent NOT BUY LEADS!

The course covers everything from building a professional website, building landing pages, and generating tons of leads from Facebook, Google and other online sources. If you want to succeed, it is a great investment that teaches you how to do every part of online lead generation and does not just keep selling you products.

Actually Google is removing inactive or abandoned Google+ accounts, not removing them completely.

David Barr According to Google & the article, Google+ will still be around but it wont be connected to other Google services anymore like YouTube. I guess people much like me did not like the one sign in for everything.

Your blog title made it seem like Google+ was going away, which it isn't.

Google+ was dead from the start.  It is nothing more than Social Media consultants talking to other Social Media Consultants.

This will be the SECOND major back-off that Google is doing from Google+

I give it one year max before Google pulls the plug on this failed experiment.

I used to really enjoy it and learned tons from there.  It did help my rankings.  I was really bummed when they abandoned authorship as my pict used to show up a lot and that seemed to increase click through rate.

Made some great connections

I've been so busy this year that I've barely had time to use.

I was disappointed, as Debbie Gartner was, about Google authorship. Such a big deal was made of this and before long, poof. I'm glad about the new of Goole+ and YouTube - makes more sense to me

I thought google authorship was great. I miss that. I'm like you and never really did figure our google+. I'm not sure what the advantage, if any, there is to it. Great post, Stefan. Thanks for keeping me informed.

Good Tuesday morning Stephan. Google plus was one of those brain farts that did not work for the mighty Google.

Hi Stephan.  Just because Google has it doesn't mean it will work.

I read about this upcoming change, not an issue for me, as I do not use Google +, so it seems to have upset many people.

Stefan, I was sad when Google Authorship went to the wayside, never the less I still see a value to it, the exposure and there are many who have said Google+ was dead from the start I am not so sure....stay tuned after all you are dealing with Google:), Endre

Google+ just seems cumbersome to me.  I have an account but seldom really use it since the spammers hit it often. I wonder what the next big thing will be or rather where it will be located.
