8/1 – Unleashed – Surf Dog competition. Enjoy watching man’s best friends as they jump on their boards and ride the waves! Imperial Beach 9 am – 2 pm.

7/30 – 8/2 - Ramona Country Fair. Head out east to enjoy a day in the country! Carnival rides, games, and even a “Ramona Idol” singing contest. Ramona Fairgrounds. T/F 5pm – 11 pm, S/S 11 am – 11 pm. www.ramonachamber.com
8/2 – 8/3 – San Diego Surf Cup. Come cheer on these young soccer players (ages 9-18) as they compete to win the coveted Surf Cup Championship. The players are from 25+ states and several other countries. San Diego Polo Club. 8 am – 8 pm. www.surfcup.com
8/2 – Solana Beach Triathlon and Duathlon. Over 2000 athletes will compete this year in the event starting and finishing at Fletcher Cove. 7 am. www.kozevents.com.
8/2 – Chula Vista Lemon Festival. This fun street festival celebrates the heritage of Chula Vista as the “Lemon Capitol of the World”, back in the 1920s. 3rd Ave between E and Roosevelt. 10 am – 5 pm. www.thirdavenuevillage.com
8/8 – San Diego Burger Battle. The Bull Burger Battle is a live cooking competition and a qualifying round for the World Food Championships in Las Vegas. Carddine Home Resort. 9 am – 3 pm. www.bullbbq.com
8/8 - Cardiff Dog Days of Summer. Food, contests, a blessing of the dogs, adoptions and more. Aberdeen Dr and Newcastle Ave. 10 am – 5pm. www.cardiffdogdaysofsummer.com
8/9 – Hillcrest CityFest. CityFest features over 250 artists and crafts vendors, music, great food, dancing, performances, and more. 5th and Brookes and University Ave. Noon – 11 pm. www.fabuloushillcrest.com
8/9 – Carlsbad Art in the Village. Enjoy the works of over 150 arts and crafts vendors in the beautiful setting of Carlsbad Village. State St and Grand Ave. 9 am – 5 pm. www.kennedyfaires.com/carlsbad
