Tango tales continue today with what was SUPPOSED to be a training session. We started working inside but he was being a bit of a slug so we decided to go outside.
The IDEA was that he would go around the arena ON THE TRACK under his own direction, like a good boy.
Tango, of course, had other IDEAS.
Other than constantly running back to Mommy in the middle of the arena and going to check to see if he could go out the gate, he didn't do much of anything "productive".
He did have fun, he was proud of himself and although he didn't "work" he was still a good boy.
Check out the LEAP at about the 1:05-10 minute mark!
In case anyone is wondering, the purpose of the equipment he is wearing is to keep his head in the proper position and prevent him from running through the bridle when I ride. He has a bit of a "pulling" habit and I cannot win a battle of strength with a 1500 lb beastie.
Also, he cannot exactly be given free rein to run and jump and play right now because he is wearing a special shoe set up for show season. It makes it a little tricky if he picks up too much steam, it becomes a little more difficult for him to stop and turn as quickly as he "naturally" would. We also do not want him to get too high strung on his own and clip himself with a shoe or actually pull one off which could damage his hoof.
If you don't like Tango or videos of horses, well, this is my blog and I get to decide!

My neice Raegan has a beautiful horse. I don't know a thing about it. She barrell races.
