I have told people at interviews for decades that we dont hire Employees here, we hire people with a Partner mindset.

Today is one of those days where my best laid plans have gone astray. Most of the day was to be centered around an office presentation that the team and I were to be doing for a large local office. Well, that changed as of late last night. (It was nice of them to call to reschedule tho.)

Well, it is on to plan “B” and when I get that done, it is off to plan “C”.  When one owns their own business, there are ALWAYS things to do. I think that this is the difference between an entrepreneur and an employee. An entrepreneur will find something to do to generate income while an employee will do nothing and take the day off. I believe it is all in the mindset. Your thoughts?

It is a great day at Complete Home Inspections!

Sorry you got a late cancel.... It happens in my business as well.. I like that you let it roll off your back and you found other things to accomplish ! Yes, it is quite rewarding to steer our own ships !

Bob - Ones mindset has a lot to do with your work ethic, and how others perceive you as well. I have always been one to look for ways to improve or enhance my business.

I take days off, I am an employee but that having been said I have been on the phone on my days off negotiation deals keeping clients happy and keeping closings on track. I work hard but I play hard too. I do not like doing non RPA but sometimes one must!

I totally agree.  When I was an employee, I went home empty-handed at the end of the day.  Now that I'm self-employed, I can never say, "My work is done."  Long before my work is done, I am done for the day .. or night.
