No doubt you’ve heard by now about Cecil the famous lion who was killed by the American dentist in Africa.

And you probably have pretty strong feelings about the situation.
Most people do. It’s blowing up worldwide. The office of the dentist are being boycotted and there’s even been an online petition started demanding justice for the killing of the lion.
Now this blog is not to argue for or against the hunting of wild animals like lions. Those arguments are already being debated elsewhere online and in the world.
What I think is important for us in Real Estate and other professions to remember is this: the world is connected place now. What you and I do pretty much anywhere in the world can be noticed. And if it is something like what the dentist guy did, you can find yourself becoming famous yourself very quickly. And possibly in not such good ways because people have strong opinions about the world and what people do...and they're not afraid to express them.
Think about Real Estate or Your Profession and the world around us now:
In Real Estate, for example, we hold open houses. And at
open houses, there’s a pretty high probability that you’re on camera and that you have not been told about that. How do you behave when you are in someone’s empty house all alone?

How about this one? When you’re driving down the road, others take notice. Dash cams are appearing in vehicles at a huge rate now. The other day a cement truck cut me off in traffic. It was a blatant type of move where the driver didn’t have to do what he did, but he did anyways. And the name of that concrete company was all over his truck. Guess which concrete company I will never use or recommend? What does your driving say about you?
People are watching.
And they’ll tell others.
Now, the good news is that people will also tell others about the positive experience they had with you as their REALTOR® or in your profession. When we provide great service, on time communication, professional knowledge and rise to the level of being the best we can be, people will take notice.
And providing a professional level of service should be our goal.
And in our personal lives, our goal should be like my momma always told me, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"
