Today’s lesson: TAKER ~ someone who always takes from other people and never gives back. (From Urban Dictionary)
What is it that makes people expect their Realtor® friends and neighbors to do the impossible in selling their property, but when it doesn’t sell they turn it over to a total stranger and lower the price by 15-20% or more? It’s like your message is “if you were really my friend you would have sold my property at the out of the ass price I insisted on asking … now I have to punish you for failing me”. Thank you for the exercise in futility; I really needed the practice! After years of observing this phenomenon, I have learned to expect it, and not waste time worrying about it. At my age I just write them off and keep walking. If it doesn’t bother them it sure as hell doesn’t bother me. But I would like to know how anyone expects to retain the long term trust of a good friend, who has performed in the past, by applying this logic. Friends are hard to find, so we need to keep them if we can. The answer is they’re really not friends. There are men and women (we all know that separation of philosophy), and there are givers and takers. All the other differences are not important. Don’t be a taker.
