Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities 5K – August 1 at Fort Snelling State Park. Participate in the 3rd Annual BBBS 5K Run/Walk! Enjoy the views and natural beauty that Fort Snelling State Park offers, all while getting in a bit of exercise!
Gilded Spatula Food Truck Battle – August 8 at Canterbury Park. This face-off between local food trucks will provide guests with great food, craft beer, and live music. A portion of the proceeds will go to support YouthLink's life-changing work with homeless youth in the Twin Cities.
Loring Park Art Festival – August 8 & 9 at Loring Park. The different art works vary from painting, photography, printmaking, to handmade paper, wood and jewelry. 40th Annual Vadnais Heights Heritage Days – August 13 – 16. All events take place at Community Park, 641 East County Road F or Vadnais Heights Commons, 655 E County Road F. There will be a variety of food vendors and entertainment and even fireworks. Visit the website for more information.
Snail Run – August 15 at Kohler Meadows Park. There will be a Kids Fun Run, 5K and a 10K. The 5K and 10K runs start at 9am. Get registered and have some fun!
Saint George Greek Summer Festival – August 22 & 23 at Saint George Greek Orthodox Church in Saint Paul. Have a great day enjoying Gyros, Souvlaki, Lamb and Chicken dinners, Greek Pastries, Flaming Cheese, Kid’s Games and Dance and Music Performances.
Minnesota Renaissance Festival – August 22 to October 4 at the Festival Fairgrounds in Shakopee, MN. The Renaissance Festival gives visitors the chance to peer into medieval life, as they eat ham from the bone, witness the popular sport of jousting and participate in events like axe-throwing and lute-playing. Minnesota State Fair – August 27 to September 7 at the State Fairgrounds in Falcon Heights, MN. This year, there are over 450 foods available at 300 concession stands. Agriculture and competition, special exhibits, attractions such as the Mighty Midway, Kidway, Haunted House, Sky Ride and more are fun for all ages. Plus, the Grandstand features entertainment acts and concerts along with other stages throughout the fairgrounds featuring more than 100 acts. There are over a million visitors at this annual event.
