Sometimes You Just Need A Little Tranquility

Real Estate Agent with Integrity Real Estate Group

 Currituck Sound-Cindy Jones

I'm thinking it's time for a little peaceful reflection on Active Rain.  Do you remember why you joined this community?  Was it to help with your connections to local buyers and sellers?  To foster relationships with fellow REALTORS® around the country?  To let your voice be heard as a positive reflection of our industry?

Active Rain has changed over the 8 years I've been a member but the community rules & guidelines are still the same.  I'm hoping as the new owners look at where we are and where we've been that the guidelines that started this great community come front and center again.

Enjoy a peaceful Friday and a great real estate weekend.

Cindy I saw your lovely photo on FB and thought - what a great way to start the day. Thank You!  Tranquilty....that feels so good. AR is a great community and  yes we've certainly had our ups and downs this past few years. I do believe we've come full circle and with it back in good hands we can only go up from here.

Cindy, While change can be good, some things are the bedrock of the community and can't (or shouldn't) be easily changed.  I've had some heartburn lately with those that don't even begin to try to understand this community before condemning its members and practices.  Still trying to understand what their purpose is for being here in the first place?

Honestly, I joined in 2006 because it was the newest shiny penny and wanting to jump in. I lurked for awhile and admired the groups and interaction. I learned so much on AR and built a rock solid online presense. Online relationships with other members turned into real life friends, networking and referrals. One of my biggest $ clients called from one of my AR blog posts.  AR works, if you use it right and implement it's purpose into your business.

Hi Cindy...I believe I joined initially to learn. Even though I had been in real estate for a number of years I realized that there is always more to learn. I stayed because I not only learned, I felt as though I had developed relationships with so many others across the country (and elsewhere). Even though I have been gone for too long, I still feel very much a part of this community and admire its purpose and its value.

Very nice, short and to the point Cindy.  Change is good but some changes can drive people away or just get them so frustrated they react negatively to everything.  Lets hope the happiness returns.

Cindy, I hope so too.  If the crap we've been seeing is tolerated it will only attract more of it. New people coming in to the community will not get an accurate read on what this community is really all about.

Thanks Anna I hope the same for AR.

Bliz agree we need to make sure the new ownership helps get us back on course.

Christine AR was the bedrock for my business for many years.  Hope it comes back around again.

Kate I love the relationships that have developed over the years because of AR.

Chris & Dick I'm all for positive change.  When you see a blog roll or Q&A section full of negativity it hurts everyone.

Kathleen everyone comes to AR for a different reason but I wonder about anyone who believed they can change the community by attacking it.

William enjoy your moments of Tranquility.
