There are many things to do in Yorktown Virginia.
Yorktown Virginia is home of the field where the Cornwallis surrendered to George Washington and the Revolutionary War was won! In addition to the historic sites Yorktown is a great place to have dinner, a drink or ice cream.
The beach at Yorktown overlooks the York River just a few miles west of where the York flows into the Chesapeake Bay. It is a favorite spot for locals to gather to see the full moon rise. This picture of the blue moon was taken a few minutes after sunset on July 31, 2015.
The Coleman Bridge connects Yorktown to Gloucester Pointe. It is a beautiful site on a calm night when the lights from the bridge are reflecting on the glassy York River.
If you are in the Williamsburg area, Yorktown is just a short drive and is a great place to visit.
