Speechless Sunday - This is Oklahoma

By
Real Estate Agent with McGraw Realtors

This is Oklahoma!Sometimes I run into people who know nothing or very little about Oklahoma.  I'm sure that is true of your state and where you live too.

What's really funny is that there is often this perception that Oklahoma is all flat, boring and we still live in Tee-Pees.

But none of that is true.

What is true is that we have amazing, beautiful all natural rolling plains.  We have small towns and some big cities.  And we also have places like what you see in the picture.

Yep, the Northeast corner of Oklahoma shares some beautiful hilly regions that extend into Arkansas and Missouri.  Believe it or not, this picture was taken as I was out showing a house one day not too long ago.  It's somebodies front yard.

So, the next time you hear about Oklahoma, remember that we are state in the middle of it all with lots to offer.  We're close to major large cities, have a low cost of living and lots of friendly people!  Come and visit us.  We'll make you right at home!

I didn't think you lived in tee-pees, but I didn't know you had wooded areas like your photo :) You're right about the perception of Oklahoma as flat plains for sure.

Good morning  Bob. I believe you are right: where ever you live there are things you have yet to learn. Nice picture.

I don't know much about Oklahoma, except you have oil wells, Native Americans, and the Oklahoma Sooners college football team.  The OK panhandle borders southeast Colorado.  Trees in OK?  Thanks for the information.

Interesting.  I never thought there was so much woods anywhere in Oklahoma.  Lots of stereotypes out there.

I've only been to Oklahoma once when I was a kid.  We were driving to California when the Cadillac broke down in Tulsa.  While they gave us a rental we drove around.  I still remember to this day how impressed I was with everything we saw.

ITs always good to see what other places really look like.  This gives us a whole new perception of your state.

I have had quite a few out of country investors visit and those who have not done their homework are surprised at all the greenery. When we drive from Oklahoma City to Tulsa they realize it is not all the same also.

Bob- I'm from Houston, and sadly the only thing I've seen of Oklahoma is the highway that runs from Houston to Kansas City.  I'm glad you shared this picture.  I can remember when I was in the 3rd grade, our teacher said that she'd been to NY and they asked her if we had television and trees.

It seems like everytime I've been in Oklahoma, I've been on my way to somewhere else.  I need to fix that one of these days, and stay awhile!

Bob Haywood you are right - at least I think not many people in Northeast know a lot about OK. I have traveled in many states - and OK is on my list to visit places - not sure how soon that will happen, but it will, I am sure.

We make it easy. You make it home.

I may have driven through OK once but don't know that much about it, along with several other states. There is so much to see in the USA...just need more time for travel. :)
