Mary Jo’s 86th Birthday Celebration: late but fantastic at Café Del Rey in Marina Del Rey, CA!
Diane has known Mary Jo from work for over 16+years, she used to be the Law Librarian in her office. Even after she retired Diane stayed in touch. Long story short, we always made it a tradition to invite her over at the minimum on her birthday, I would cook… and then I was going through a very busy phase of my business and our tradition switched to going out to dinner instead.
Needless to say, we always had a good time, did not matter if it was a local hole in the wall or an upscale restaurant. She always had a good time with us and us with her.
Well this year we had to cancel, change the venue at least three times, because Douggy our elder statesman cat is going through some rough times. Then we finally got him stabilized, but he is on a strong regiment of medications, hence going out to dinner has become something of the past.
Diane asked Mary Jo, what if we did a Saturday Brunch, she thought it was not such a bad idea. Anyway where there is a will there is a way. We went to Café Del Rey and the food is out of this world as well as the service.
Just to give you an idea checkout the Menu, they personalized the Menu just for us at the table.
