Summer wouldn't be the same without watermelon! With the high temperatures in August, this is the perfect time to celebrate this juicy fruit.

Watermelon originated in south Africa. They are red inside but you can also find other varieties that are white, yellow, or orange.

Watermelon are over 90% water and around 6% sugar. Watermelon can be used for beverages, desserts, or grilled.

Wayne and Jean Marie Zuhl I've put it in the blender then froze the watermelon juice in ice cube trays. Then add it to water I'm drinking for a change up.

My wifes favorite food. Can't buy enough of them. If we were together (both traveling for business)  I would celebrate by buying her another one. lol

One of my favorites.  I was surprised on a recent hike to find that there are areas around me where watermelon is growing wild!

I was pretty surprised when I saw it - wasn't far from a residential area, so I'm guessing someone dropped seeds once upon a time, or maybe grows them for themself, but they're definitely growing alongside a public trail!
