National Night Out in Charlotte, North Carolina will be held on Tuesday, August 4th from noon until 6:00pm at the Calvary Church located at 5801 Pineville-Matthews Road in Charlotte. National Night Out is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW), which was founded in 1981, and is now considered the nation’s premiere non-profit crime prevention organization dedicating its efforts to the promotion of crime prevention in communities across the nation.
At Charlotte's National Night Out on August 4th, you will be able to meet police officers from the South Division of Charlotte-Mecklenburg's Police Department, as well as representatives from the Charlotte Fire Department and other local agencies.
The idea behind the National Night Out program is to:
- Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
- Generate support within local communities for crime prevention
- Strengthen police community relations, as well as relationships amongs residents of neighborhoods
- Send a message to criminals to let mthem know that neighborhoods are fighting back against crime

The event is free. There will be food, drinks, fun activities for kids, and lots of ideas shared on how to prevent crime. You can get more information at 704-341-5320.
