If you really want a view journey to the top of the Center Piece of Contra Costa County – Mount Diablo. On a clear day you can see more from the top of Mt. Diablo than from any other place in the world except Mt. Kilimanjaro. But unlike Mt. Kilimanjaro you can drive to the top of Mount Diablo (or hike – I have done both). On a clear day you can see the Farralon Islands, The Sierras, Mt Shasta and the central valley to the south.
