Objective of the Proposal:
Obtain partial funding for a two day appraiser event for the class in which this funding support is for Appraisers to identify and learn correct methodology in valuing residential & commercial solar.
The US Green Building Council (USGBC), Arizona Chapter, Residential Green Building Committee is hosting residential & commercial solar valuation courses for appraisers. The course(s) will educate professional real estate appraisers on technique, methodology and properly analyzing and valuating the most commonly found solar systems within residential & commercial properties.

The Residential Green Building Committee is a subcommittee of the USGBC which is comprised of industry volunteers who support professionals in the Arizona housing industry to design, build, renovate, and sell environmentally sustainable homes. These classes promote awareness and value to all involved in the residential sector.
This committee is a part of the USGBC, which is a 501c3 non-profit that promotes sustainability in communities. The USGBC mission is to be a coalition of leaders from every sector of the community working to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy places to work and live.
This is a unique opportunity for sponsors to support Appraisers, who will earn QE or CE credits, and be on the cutting edge of learning how to correctly value residential & commercial solar.
Green technology, specifically solar, is increasingly found in homes due to market demand for sustainable practices and products.
Appraisers will earn 15 QE or CE hours for the
Residential and Commercial Valuation of Solar.
In an effort to promote increased attendance and affordability of QE or CE hours for appraisers, sponsorships are being sought. This proposal is intended to request sponsorship from companies who will benefit from a more qualified appraisal including:
· Appraisal Management Companies
· Solar Contractors
· Trade Contractors
· Utility Companies
· HERs Raters/Energy Auditors
· Real Estate Agents
The goal of this course is to:
1) Educate appraisers in Residential and Commercial Valuation of Solar
2) Create awareness of how to fully utilize the Appraisal Institute’s Green & Energy Efficient Addendum as part of the appraisal process;
3) Recognize appraisers who have taken these courses on the Appraisal Institute and the USGBC websites, in order to provide a resource for all involved in the residential industry and for the public to use for consultation and services related to the valuation of residential & commercial solar systems.
Different levels of sponsorship available*:
$250 - Certified - company recognition on event announcements and presentation
$500 - Silver – Certified benefits plus company logo
$1000 - Gold - Silver Benefits plus opportunity to address attendees
$1500 - Platinum– Gold benefits plus company display during lunch and opportunity to address attendees during lunch.
Logos will be displayed on the e-flyers on USGBCAZ.org and everywhere the site is promoted in social media, flyers, etc., and recognized at the classes. Sponsors will be providing a highly valuable opportunity for recognition and progress within the industry.
