3 Ways to Fit Real Estate Blogging into Your Busy Schedule

I have a real estate blog, but… I just don’t have time to actually blog!

Sound familiar? Read on!

Everyone hates that "race against the clock" feeling - and when that starts happening to you every time you sit down to write a blog, chances are, you're going to give up on it sooner rather than later. You can't stop time - so what can you do to alleviate the blogging time crunch? The obvious answer is to outsource – but perhaps not in the way you might think. Incorporate these three ideas to free up some of your time without missing blog deadlines.

  1. Use a blog-writing service.

Using an outsourced writing service may seem like a stretch since most people don’t have intimate knowledge of the real estate industry like you do. In my experience, however, high quality writers and editors can create great content on a variety of subject matters.

Allow me to introduce you to scripted.com.  Scripted writers are tested for writing skills and vetted for eligibility to write on individual topics. In order to become a writer for a specific topic, interested parties have to submit a piece of content that is graded by internal editors who decide whether the writer has the required know-how to be considered an expert on the topic at hand. This is a much different process than the one followed by your average Internet blogger – who typically uses Google to search for content ideas, then attempts to inject a real estate spin and often misses the mark. The other benefit to services like Scripted? Prices are very fair and competitive.

  2. Invite guest bloggers

Another option is to do part of the writing yourself and outsource the other portion to business contacts and industry experts. Whether you decide to feature other agents in your area, experts from related fields (mortgage, insurance…) or any agent who has great content that is useful to your clients, featuring guest bloggers is a great way to diversify your content and to keep your readers engaged.  We do that on the Zurple blog with our Agent Insights series. And what are some of our most popular posts? You guessed it – Agent Insights guest blog posts.

  3. Showcase your clients

Always include some blog “show and tell” by sharing your success stories! You can either chronicle your way through the buyer or seller journey – or write a wrap-up post after close. Either way, the content is sure to resonate with prospects that are about to be in the exact same boat as your current clients. As an added bonus, you’ll get some great testimonial pieces and will build your credibility as an agent and expert in your area.

Once you get in a rhythm by successfully incorporating guest bloggers, outsourced writers and/or client stories, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how quickly your blog becomes easier to manage.

All great tips, I have plans to hire some content writers in the future to write more professional blogs. For now it is still fun to do blogs when I can.

Have a great & successful week!
