Who should you "follow"?
As you probably know we aren't referring to the literal meaning of following someone or something but to the term used in social media for whom you are updated on. The people that you "follow" will show on your feeds and can be a benefit to you or in some cases a detriment. When you have a corporate/business account on a social site or if you blog using the business name it is important for you to maintain your company's values and reputation not just with content but with who you follow, like, or search. It is not all about quantity when it comes to your business pages but quality of contacts. For example it is more beneficial to your company to follow bloggers or social media members that are in the same profession or work in a local business than it would be to friend or follow all the kids in the neighborhood.
As a Realtor, I try to pick companies/individuals that are affiliated with an association that is related to the field, our local community, state, or nation. I try to avoid controversial topics, sites, or people.
