Real estate golf

It doesn't take a genius to tell you that golf is very popular. Since August is National Golf Month, figure out a way to leverage that:

  • The driving ranges slow down a bit now so negotiate a group rate and get some folks together. A great way to call families with kids, that are starting to run out of things to do this summer. Set up a 2-3 hour window when you will be there and they can drop by with the kids or alone.
  • Google PGA or LPGA golf tournament schedule. Put a couple major ones in your calendar and check the leader board on the Friday of the tournament. There are only two scenarios for you as an agent... Either you like golf and can call and talk a little golf or you can call and say "I know nothing about golf but know you are the expert. Everyone is talking about the big golf tournament going on so give me some scoopage so I don't look so stupid." Both conversations begin with...

" I just had to call because I was thinking of you today."

  • If you are a golfer, bring together 3 clients and play. You don't have to pay just because you brought a group together. If they are larger clients or referrers, perhaps invite two clients and pay for the pro to ride with you. Let them take turns riding in a cart and playing with a pro that is paid to help if they want it. Very effective.

MEOW....

Don't forget tomorrow is National Cat Day. If you don't have any clients in your database that have a cat and that you can have an engaging, "Thinking of You Conversation", you are in the wrong business. If you aren't working tomorrow, make 3 calls on the way home tonight to 3 cat owners and be an interesting real estate agent.

Why???    Cuzitmatters...

I agree, it does matter.  Clients love it when you have paid attention and are thinking of them.

I used to play golf a bit back a few years ago. things got busy and so on, so I just kind of let it go to the wayside.

Captain, you would be the perfect one... Invite out some kids and show them how... The parents or grandparents would love you...

My husband is a golf teaching professional and we share a sign that says "Real Estate is like Golf; it's all in the follow through!"

Great idea to get out with some like minded people and enjoy a good walk spoiled

It's too flipping hot for golf here, but I CAN do a Facebook post or call or email my cat people! One thing I know for sure, people loves their pets! Thanks. :)

Bob, these are great suggestions!  I've never played golf but do sell quite a bit in golfing communities.  Now I have at least an idea of how to make myself a look a little more knowledgeable about the game.

Golf is good and so are pets.  I guess the trick would be to find pets who are good at golf.

Bob  I can talk golf all day long.  There are 4 of us that have been playing for about 15 years.  Tuesday is golf day...only need temps above 50° and a free day from work.  Figure 30 weeks a year and generally 27-45 holes.  How is this for talkin' golf?  Do you play?  Why?  Cuzitmatters!  Enjoy your day!

Hi Bob Bloom ,  I am not a golfer, although I played it many years ago and liked it. You must be a golfer, because that is quite a trick shot!  Did you use your cell phone?
