WINERIES IN DFW

It seems many Dallasites flee to the Hill Country to get their Texas wine, but did you know there are a plethora of places to get your fix right here in the DFW area? Although this list just scratches the surface, we think it’s a great place to start. Let us know what you think!

Wales Manor (McKinney)

This commercial production facility was the first one in Collin County and allows tours, tastings and more. Enjoy a bottle of their award winning line of Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve and Rose wines while enjoying live music and relaxation.

Messina Hof (Grapevine)

This is the third location for Messina Hoff which is based in Bryan. Opening in 2014, this winery is located in the old Wallis Hotel downtown. This winery features multiple wine bars, a tasting room and a gift shop. Consider visiting during Christmas when it’s all decked out for Christmas.

Delaney Vineyards & Winery (Grapevine)

Every Thursday evening in spring and summer this festive winery hosts a live music event called Rhythm and Wine. Enjoy wine, music and appetizers while strolling the property and enjoying the scenery.

Cross Timbers Winery (Grapevine)

Located in the charming, historic Brock home, you can enjoy wine tastings from their house wine as well as a selection of other Texas wines. You can also sample wines from their sister winery Casa Madero in Parras, Mexico. Tastings can be done on the front porch, patio or crush pad.

CROSS TIMBERS WINERY

Lost Oak Winery (Burleson)

This picturesque winery is located on the banks of Village Creek with three cultivated vineyards, stately oak trees and winding walking paths.  It’s the perfect place to enjoy an afternoon having a picnic, going on a hike, bike ride or listening to live music (all while tasting of course).

Times Ten Cellars (Dallas/Fort Worth)

Although the grapes are grown near Alpine, Texas, this winery has facilities in both Dallas and Fort Worth. This is a great option for city residents who want to enjoy a tasting without having to make the drive out to the burbs.

Lightcatcher Winery & Bistro (Fort Worth)

This boutique Texas winery has a fun twist. Not only do they make their own wine but Bistro Lightcatcher features dishes that pair well with what they produce. They release a total of 1500 cases of 12 -15 different wines each year and hosts weddings, luncheons, dinners and corporate events.

Barking Rocks (Granbury)

Nestled near downtown Granbury, this casual, quaint, atmosphere makes tasting and enjoying wine fun. A native Texan and an Italian have joined forces to bring North Texas wine from great grapes. The first Friday of each month they provide live music events. Bring your own food and prepare to enjoy some Texas wine.

San Martino Winery & Vineyard (Rockwall)

Farm to table dinners at this gorgeous facility will have you swearing you are enjoying a meal in Tuscany. It’s important to note that unlike most wineries, this one requires you to call and arrange your tours. We bet you can’t enjoy just one glass from the tasting bar.
