It’s just human nature to be inquisitive. We want to know the “who, what, when, where, why and how” for everything! And we are especially inquisitive when it comes to Mission Viejo real estate. The questions from all the people involved in Mission Viejo real estate combine to makeGreen Iguana a pretty funny list. So here are some frequently asked questions from home sellers, home buyers, lenders, and Realtors. With a couple of wild cards added in as a bonus.

Why are the buyers asking for all 21 pieces of my patio furniture? Can’t they afford to buy their own? If they can’t afford to buy their own patio furniture, how can they be qualified to buy my house?

Why did the buyers submit an offer below our list price when I heard you tell them that we already have an offer at full list price? Are they insane?

Your clients want to see the house in 15 minutes? My sellers have 4 kids, three dogs and an iguana. Can I call you back when the coast is clear?

How come the buyers are asking for a ten day escrow when the listing information includes the little nugget of 411 that we need a 30 day escrow and a rent back for 30 days to find a replacement home? Are they completely heartless?

What should I do about the new stain on the bathroom floor that wasn’t there when I sold my house and my rent back started?

Where in the world did the sellers get the impression that their house is worth $100,000 more than the updated, view house down the street that just sold?

Do they have a cat? Doesn’t it smell like they have a cat? Are you allergic to cats? Do you have any Benadryl?

When do we stop making counter offers? How many times can we go back and forth before we decide to pull the plug? Why aren’t they being realistic?

Building permit

When do we have to decide which lender to go with? We’ve only talked to five of them and we have seven more to talk to.

When did they put that pool in? Did they pull all the permits? Did it pass the city inspections?

Did you really just lease a new car five days before closing on the loan for the purchase of your home? And did you also buy a new washer, dryer, and refrigerator as well?

Why didn’t they scrape the ceiling to get rid of that horrible popcorn? Do you think there’s asbestos up there? How much does it cost to scrape the ceilings in a house like this? Is asbestos always poisonous? Do you know someone who can get that done for us?
