This is a great time to start gathering moving materials. Boxes, tape, markers and packing peanuts will be put to good use. Go through each room and start packing up the stuff you don't use every day. Mark the outside of the boxes with the room they belong in as well as a quick list of what is inside. That way, they can be placed in the correct corresponding room in your new place.
Go to the post office to put in a change of address. This insures that there will be no interruption of service or missed mail at the new place. Many post offices also have moving kits that include coupons for carpet cleaning, packing materials, home improvement store items and more.

This is the perfect time to start cleaning. If you are renting, you want to get back as much of your deposit as possible, right? If you just sold your home, you won't want to leave it a mess for the new owners.
Get your prescriptions refilled. That way, you don't have to worry about running out of critical medication on top of your move.
