Yay, Florida!

Real Estate Agent with Amerivest Realty

Just got home for the evening and felt like bloggin'.

We had a great Florida day.  Matt woke up early to play golf with his dad - and I slept in (with a little help from the Nyquil that I took last night.)

I finished my skimming of Blue Mind by Wallace Nichols.  I never just skim books, but I felt like I got the jist of the 300 page book from reading the back cover.  The back of the book is enlightening – and I highly recommend reading it (the back of the book).  It’s about all of the benefits of being around water…be it the ocean, a fountain, a fish tank, even a picture of a lake or stream….

I did slow down and read the parts of the book that pertained to waterfront properties... thinking that may assist my efforts in mastering my new real estate market.

Then we floated around the pool for a while before we took a ride out to check on the progress of our new house.

We have a concrete slab!!!  We also have a floor outlet in the wrong room….  There was supposed to be a floor outlet in my office, so that my desk could be positioned in the middle of the room, and my lamp could be plugged in just below my desk (without a cord reaching to the wall)…. And…darnit… it very much looks like there’s an outlet in the middle of what was going to be Matt’s office – and nothing in the floor of my room….

Makes me a little nervous about all the other hundreds of details that could go wrong between now and when the house is completed.

Anywho… can’t do anything about that tonight.

After visiting our new house, we timed Matt’s drive to Hertz’s new GLOBAL HEADQUARTERS (28 minutes). Then we went to Coconut Point (a great open-air mall) and wandered through West Elm (left empty-handed), World Market (bought a popcorn ball), and Barnes and Noble (grabbed three books off the buy 2, get 1free table).

Next we headed to Reuben’s Smokehouse for dinner (pretty good BBQ) with a friend from high school who was down here visiting her aunt.  Stopped by Matt’s parents’ house for a quick dip in the hot tub, and now we’re home… Matt’s reading and I’m writing this.

Welcome to SWFL.  In what development are you building?  Reubens, I have not been but maybe should give it a try.

Florida (at least in the tourist areas) is usually pretty easy and breezy trip and everybody' could use a little breeziness once in a while

Sounds like a very busy Florida Day Tara, nice that you can save the time of reading that 300 page book with a quick skim of the back cover.

Enjoy the new home, maybe Matt will trade offices with you.
