Spotlight on Two Bridges!

http://www.defalcorealty.com/

Located on the southern end of the Lower East Side, Two Bridges is a neighborhood near the footings of the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge, bordering Chinatown. Two Bridges is split into two sections - the area between the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge, and an area to the east that borders the Lower East Side. Two Bridges is west of Civic Center and Financial District, making it quite convenient for those who work in those areas.

Two Bridges is a mix of tenement style walk-up and high-rise buildings, with plans for new condos being developed. Home buyers will find a diverse neighborhood, tucked in the shadows of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, some with water views.

In September 2003, the Two Bridges Historic District – nine blocks long - was listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It includes several houses of worship and brick fronted homes.

Don't you just wonder why a simple directional term of long ago has now become an actual section of the city.
