Spotlight on Hudson Yards!

www.defalcorealty.com

One of the most exciting projects to come to New York City in a long time, the Hudson Yards Redevelopment Project is a joint venture by the New York City Department of City Planning and Metropolitan Transportation Authority to develop the far West Side along the Hudson River. Rezoning and an extension of the 7 train at 11th Avenue will bring residence buildings, office towers, a hotel, a park and even includes a renovation of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

The new neighborhood is centered around the development between 10th and 12th Avenues and by 30th and 33rd Streets.

The unique Hudson Yards is expected to consist of 16 skyscrapers containing more than 12,700,000 square feet of new office, residential, and retail space, including two levels of restaurants, cafes, markets and bars, a hotel, a cultural space, about 5,000 residences, a 750-seat school, and 14 acres of public open space.

When other projects (including the Olympics bid and a scrapped football stadium) fell through, the Hudson Yards project was created. It broke ground on December 4, 2012 and the first tower is supposed to be completed by the end of 2015.
