Nextdoor.com is a great website that keeps neighbors in communication with each other. The message boards allow the member to communicate about neighborhood events, warn each other about crime and to more importantly, “sell stuff.” These types of websites have been around for awhile, but Nextdoor takes it to a more professional level with a complete profile page, and host of options. In the site there’s a classified section, Crime & Safety, Documents, Free Items, Lost and Found and of course Recommendations.
This is a great space and opportunity to communicate with your neighbors and showcase yourself when the opportunity presents itself. Currently there are over 400 neighbors and 4,000 area neighbors around me.
I will be using the website as an opportunity to get to know people, communicate, make new friends and ultimately get more business and even promote a neighborhood listing. Past and current clients who have bought in my immediate area can help grow my business by adding me under the recommendations tab.
