You can tell you are enjoying summer when you can smell it in the air, feel it on your skin, and see the different summer colors everywhere. If, however, you think your house looks bland, you can still use this season to brighten up your house and attract more buyers.
Pastel pink, zesty lemon, lime green, orange and sky blue would be good hues to experiment with. Here are some ideas to make your home pop during summer!
- Paint your door. If your house paint is white or some neutral color, you can add a dash of excitement to your front lawn by painting your front door a summer color. You have to take into consideration the color of your walls before deciding which color to paint your door with. Green and Sky Blue would be great choices because they look fresh and bright. You can also use orange to get that wow factor. Painting your front door a summer color doesn’t only make it more attractive, it also adds character to the house.
- Choose colorful furniture. If you do not have time or you’re somehow afraid to paint your front door a bright yellow, you can try redecorating your home with summer-colored furniture. Instead of the plain white or brown chairs, you can use gorgeous yellow chairs and tables. You can also add colorful chairs and tables on your deck, patio or balcony.
- You can use summer colors to emphasize a certain part of the room or furniture. If your fireplace looks dull, you can paint the sides with a lime green color to make it look crisp. Or you can use patterned carpet or rug to give the room more character.
- Plant flowers. Nothing brings color to a house than a garden full of flowers. You can decorate your lawn with simple but gorgeous flowering plants that are easy to maintain. Leave the orchids and other exotic plants to those with green thumbs, go for asters, daisies, sunflower, dahlia, coneflowers, fountain grass, moonshine yarrow, gaura and penstemon. These flowers are easy to plant and easy to maintain.
- Use natural decor. Farmers’ markets and grocery stores are overflowing with ripe, colorful fruits and veggies this time of year, so let the natural colors of summer’s produce double as table décor! Before guests arrive, set out bowls of juicy fresh fruit and ice-cold crunchy veggies for guests to nibble knowing the vibrant colors on the table will energize everyone.
Continue to enjoy the summer!
