Celebrate the Spirit of '45

Frontiers of Flight Museum DallasThis weekend, Frontiers of Flight Museum, remembers an important day in world history: the 70th Anniversary of the end of World War II.   Spirit of '45 Weekend will celebrate the anniversary  with  activities  for the entire family. Saturday events begin at 10:00 AM and continue throughout the day.  Food Trucks will be on hand for cold drinks, and delicious food.

Frontiers of FlightFrontiers of Flight Museum encourages guests to bring photos of their WWII heroes.  My dad's photo will be one of the photos added to the Wall of Honor. He was 19 years old when he served as a Navy Pilot in WWII.

Dallas Singer Norma Valles will perform patriotic music and other popular music from the WWII era, beginning at 3:00 PM.

We Can Do ItCheck out the complete Spirit of '45 Weekend Schedule.

A global wreath laying will take place on Sunday, at over 1,000 locations around the world, to pay tribute to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice during WWII.

Sharon, there are a couple of B-17's touring the country that I'm aware of and since my father in-law was a pilot during WWII we paid for a flight and sent him up for a flight several years ago. The last time the B-17 visited the Chicago area he was given a ride for free!

What a beautiful tribute to your dad and all the men and women who served in WWII. My dad was also in the Navy and fought in the war.

I have never been to the museum but it must be a proud and emotional experience for everyone who visits. I'm sure your dad was extremely honored to be there with you when he visited Dallas. He was a wonderful father who I know loved you and your daughter too.
