Take Millennials Out of the Box
In case you missed this one, Sharon makes a great point about putting people into "boxes"!
Make it a great day everyone and enjoy this fresh perspective on millennials!
The fact that Millennials are a popular topic of conversation is interesting to me. Long ago, I learned that it is impossible to put a person or group of people inside a box and predict their interests and behavior. As a public school teacher in suburban Chicago, I chose not to read notes written by former teachers about incoming students. I found that it was to everyone's benefit to get to know each other and learn from each other. I apply the same principal to the people I meet today.
In my extended family, there are four Millennials. All four are responsible, well-educated, industrious individuals. All are interested in owning homes. All have diverse interests. Their ability to use technology is incredible. I marvel at their skill and speed when using electronic devices. We can learn from them. In turn, each of us has a bounty of skills and information to share with them.
Over the years, I have worked with Buyers and Sellers who fall into the Millennial category. A few have purchased second homes. Although studies, provide us with statistics, we may never meet a walking talking statistic.
Maybe it's a better idea to stop theorizing about an age group and allow people to get to know each other on a one to one basis with nor preconceived notions.
