When you hire a Realtor, you are hiring a marketing company first!

 

Let's face it, the internet is where everyone is turning to get answers and find the 

things they want...people are more equipped to make buying decisions with all of the 

information and data literally at their fingertips.

When you hire a Realtor to sell your home, you should be thinking that you are hiring someone 

that is on their game and up to date with the best of marketing strategies that work today

to get your home in front of the right audience, someone who will spend money upfront to promote your home and take into consideration your safety as well as that of your personal belongings.  

Here are a few things you should look for and expect from the Realtor you choose:

 

Market Knowledge- Familiarity with the community, floor plan, builders, local businesses and potential buyers sources

Safety- Markets your home in a responsible fashion.  There is more to just taking a listing and putting the information in the MLS.

Social media marketing-Facebook, Pinterest, Google Plus, Twitter and LinkedIn are great sources IF you know how to use them!

Paid advertising...as a marketing company would do to promote a product or service, they would be expected to do market research and spend money marketing to a specific target audience...that means your Realtor should have a working knowledge of where the most recent uyer pool in your neighborhood, zip code and/or city is coming from (Here in Arizona for example, we have a lot of out of state and out of country buyers that favor certain parts of the valley).

Open Houses:  Advertised correctly and with plenty of signage and a follow up system for buyers makes open houses, plus safety precautions for those who enter your home.

A great strategy to sell your home is to network with and market to neighbors, who often know potential buyers, get them thru the door to see your home and be advocates for your sale...your neighbors want your home to sell for top dollar as it helps them too!

You are so right.  Our job is to get the house in fromt of as many eyeballs as possible and most of those eyeballs are on the internet.
