Since she passed away three years ago today I thought it would be nice to share some lessons I learned from my mother:
1) Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today.
I'm still working on this one!
2) Reuse and repurpose whenever possible. I can't tell you how many pillows or window
treatments I have redone or remade using the skills my mom taught me with sewing.
3) Why use a recipe when you can be creative. My mother taught me how to cook using a dash of this or a pinch of that.
4) When you make a commitment, stick to it. This still rings in my ear
when I want to give up on something.
5) Laugh when you feel like crying. I look for humor in the midst of difficult circumstances and often end up laughing which always makes life easier.
Even though she was with me for over 60 years, I still miss her!
