The Louisiana Art and Science Museum, in association withthe Irene W. Pennington Planetarium, is offering a selection of recent artacquisitions for exhibit. The exhibit features paintings and prints from themid-1950s to more recent pieces from 2012. Artists featured include Bob Kane,Richard Degalman, Hunt Slonem, and Robert Vickery. Cajun Bead Crafts is hosting a free class on bead crafting.Participants are responsible for purchasing materials used for the craftingproject. Fete Rouge is hosting their annual Premier Wine and FoodFestival August 27th and 28th.  Thursday the 27th is the dinner tohonor this year’s Grace “Mama” Marino Lifetime Achievement Award winner BobbyYarborough. The dinner takes place from 6 PM – 10 PM and features a 7-coursedinner that is prepared by local chefs. Fine wines will be served to complementeach course. Live entertainment is planned. The Baton Rouge Gallery is hosting Movies & Music on theLawn Featuring La Antena on August 28th from 8 PM – 10:30 PM. Thisamazing event features silent film selections that are paired with scores thatare written and performed by local bands. This is a wonderful opportunity toexperience a bit of history with a dash of modern flair. The event takes placeat the Baton Rouge Gallery.
