A Visual Analogy of What It Feels Like When Trying to Enter a New Niche Market

By
Real Estate Agent with Florida Supreme Realty SL514814

Where does it say Welcome, Please Come In when you're attempting to make a name for yourself in new territory? It doesn't! You have all the right tools, or so you think, and the guts to take that step. But is it enough? Speed can get you in quickly and just as fast toss you out. Sometimes a basic lesson in physics will help guide you. Unpreparedness will certainly make your trip short lived. Lack of knowledge about the target and failure to see who your competition is can bring your efforts to a grinding halt in an instant.

I don't want to discourage anyone from the attempt, however, the end result may affect any future inroad into the desired market if you don't heed the simple truths above. Expect many bumps and bruises when putting 100% effort to reach your goal. Be sure that your insurance is paid and you wear your helmut during the process then be thankful you survived the initial accident. They're inevitable!

Pretty amazing that he walked away from this one, Kevin.  I hope you're taking your new area venture a bit more carefully.

Gabe, I can guarantee I will know exactly what I am merging into before hitting the throttle. My days of winging it are long gone!

When entering a new niche market, I would think you'd need to enter slowly and with caution, not like this guy.

Roger, my only guess is that his helmut is at least one size too small, and that's not meant to say his brain was too big either. A lucky guy for sure!

Wayne, I don't believe it's full effect had been measured at that point. There was an Angel there somewhere, I'm sure.

Good Sunday morning Kevin J. May -

Holy cow..... crazy stuff and he's one lucky guy or as you said he had an Angel watching over him.  May your day be smooth and productive in all you do.

Kevin, it is crazy to watch & your analogy is certainly relevant...there are vipers to get you at every turn and you may not come out ahead.

Hi Keven, I wondered where you went!  I know from experience that when entering another's niche market they are definitely vipers as Ginny Gorman stated above.  As my father always said "Walk softly and carry a big stick".  As for the video, I have seen some of these bikes go out of control without the happy ending this one had.

John, if you're a motorcyclist I believe they, the Angels. seem to enjoy the openness as much as the riders do but they aren't always just along for the ride either.

Ginny, when it comes to cars and trucks vs. motorcycles, it's imperative that the latter knows what he's up against. This guy had no clue for some reason.

First, let me say, love your new profile pic Christine! My commutes are opposite now with most of my time spent on the East coast instead of Naples. "Alley" runs since 2001 have let me see too many of the vipers push their limits. Being able to walk away from a stupid move like this has got to bring some religion into your life. Some riding lessons are in order for him!

Angels have been with me on many occasions.  It's the only explanation I have for still being alive Kevin J. May

I too have been pulled back from the edge John. I am thankful that they've been in the right places at the right time for me. I dare not question their existence.
