Even though we do not have a dog "yet"-- I've been on the lookout for dog parks in our area! We have what I like to refer to as a "postage stamp" backyard, with zero lot lines. For someone that grew up with nearly an acre of land and woods surrounding her home, in my mind this isn't big enough for a dog to roam around. Before I can commit, I need to know what our area has to offer to raise a happy, healthy dog and how convenient it is to where we live. That made me think that other dog owners who are thinking of moving to our area would like to know what Broward County offers for your four legged family member.
Our next featured dog park is: Barkham at Markham Dog Park
Markham Dog Park is fenced in with nearly three acres allowing dogs to play leash-free. There are separate sections for small and large dogs. Barkham has three shelters, an eight foot wide asphalt walking/jogging path for you and your pet. Along with two chilled water fountains for humans and dogs have their own designated fountains within the park. Plus, a dog washing area for all sizes.
Fee for Barkham at Markham Dog Park is $25 per household for an annual pass and $5 for a daily pass, plus sales tax. You will need proof of current vaccinations for each dog. You can register at the park office.
