Top 6 Ideas to Give Your San Rafael Luxury Home a Modern Look

Have you taken a look around your home lately? Is it somewhat old and outdated? Perhaps it is time to bring your home from the stone age to modern times. There are countless ways to modernize your home and give it a little more edge over other luxury homes for sale in San Rafael. Here are a few ideas to help modernize your property.

Increase the value of your San Rafael luxury homes for sale by making these updates.

  1. Hang contemporary art

One of the easiest ways to give your home a modernized look is by hanging contemporary art. To create a foolproof combination, select artworks with colors that complement your existing furnishings. Buyers will like contemporary art juxtaposed with the thoughtful architectural detail of your high end home for sale in San Rafael.

  1. Paint the walls

The walls of your home is one of the things that buyers will notice during a showing of your home. If your walls have some scuff marks, dents, stains, and screw holes, they can be repaired by a little patching and a couple of fresh paint. In addition to that, a bold new color or some 3d wall coverings can do wonders to your home.

  1. Update fabrics

Replace fabrics that show wear and tear, fading, and staining. Put out new, clean, and brighter ones if you want to create a positive impact to your potential buyers. For an easy home makeover, get new towels, sheets, and comforter covers.

  1. Invest in Slipcovers

Slipcovers are not only used to hide outdated patterns and pet stains. They can also be used to give your furniture a more stylish and contemporary look.  Well fitted slipcovers on a sofa can easily help in updating and transforming your living room.

  1. Install floating shelves

Having floating shelves will instantly give your high end real estate in San Rafael a modern and unique appeal. Keep in mind that modern rooms are all about streamlining everything. Sometimes, this could mean things can come off the ground. It is fairly easy raise fixtures off the ground, whether it is a floating bookshelf or a floating bookcase. Installing floating shelves will also help free the floor from any clutter.

Hiding countertop appliances to make your kitchen look more spacious is one of the things that you can do to give your San Rafael luxury homes for sale a modern look.

  1. Tidy up the kitchen

If you do not have the budget yet for an expensive full kitchen makeover, you may opt to hide countertop appliances to make your kitchen look more spacious. Keep the coffee maker, toaster oven, and microwave in a cabinet. You may also install electrical outlets to the interior of a kitchen cabinet where you will store electronic appliances. You can also repaint or reface the kitchen cabinets and replace outdated hardware such as cabinet pulls and hinges.

Use these suggestions to give your home a modernized look and feel. It’s time to breathe new life into your property. For more helpful ideas on home selling, visit www.SanRafaelLuxuryHomesForSale.com.

I would add light fixtures to the list. I am surprised at the number of houses that are well kept and well staged but have dated light fixtures.
