I have written about it for 
years...strongly recommending that you change your verbal farm lease to a written one.
Alas, there still are some who prefer a handshake Lease agreement for the farm land.
We are talking potential for thousands and thousands of dollars here folks!!
If you are one of those who insist on Verbal Leases...or you are 
inheriting the land and it is on a Verbal Lease...understand that Sept 1 is the last day to notify the other party that you want changes to the Lease.
Any later is too late until the 2017 crop season is negotiated next August of 2016 for Verbal Leases.
