Mt. Hebron High School (MHHS) is a community school with a reputation for excellence in educational achievement, athletics, and the performing arts. The vision for all members of the Mt. Hebron High School community is to demonstrate respect for the grounds, ourselves, learning, and diversity. The school offers a rigorous academic program that includes 24 Advanced Placement courses in core academic subjects and elective disciplines. The G/T Mentor Program provides opportunities for students to pursue special interests through independent research and mentorships. Many programs are in place to support students through effective special education services. The school has a program for English Speakers of Other Languages that supports the unique learning needs of their English Language Learners. Students who are most at-risk of academic failure participate in an alternative learning program: Pathways to Success.
Mt Hebron is proud of its continuing excellence in extracurricular and co-curricular activities. The club and activities program is under the direction of a full-time Athletics and Activities Manager. A variety of clubs and activities are available, including their award winning marching unit and cavaliers, their two time state champion lancers team, world languages, first robotics, mock trial, speech and debate. MHHS sponsors 40 teams, 28 varsity sports, four allied sports teams, and 12 junior varsity sports. Allied sports programs are for students who have not played a JV or Varsity sport, or for those who are interested in playing a sport, but do not necessarily possess the skill or desire to play on a varsity or junior varsity team.
To maintain its reputation as a community school, Mt. Hebron supports many parent groups and service organizations. These groups provide active support to the school’s programs and provide opportunities to involve parents in the education of their children. Mt. Hebron recently underwent a four-year comprehensive renovation.
