Mr. C. KIM McGuire Makes Economic Predictions

This is by far not a prediction desired by any good soul, and especially by an Optimist. Nevertheless, the reality is such that one cannot escape the facts.

As I have been saying for several years since the gas prices have been climbing above $1.75 per gallon (87 octane), our economy has been becoming unbalanced and  the societal impact is at an all CRITICAL need of a tourniquet.

Summer Time Predictions

  • National Average for Gas Price will reach >$4.00 per gallon.
  • Cost of Food Prices will continue to increase.
  • More Semi-Tractor Drivers across the country will have Protests and Highway Slow Downs.
  • Layoffs and/or Week out of the Month shut down at Truck manufacturing plants.
  • Auto Parts factories - Layoffs.
  • More Local Small Businesses will have more layoffs.
  • Nationally, Unemployment will increase.
  • Cost of Electricity will increase.
  • More Trucks and Larger Vehicles will be up for sale by owners.
  • Auto Manufacturers will offer Significant Discounts and Rebates on Trucks and Larger Vehicles to off-load inventory.
  • Relatively wide spread injuries, sickness, and increase in heat stress related deaths during summer as a result of increase in electricity cost and some people not being able to afford cooling their homes.
  • Stock Market will be unpredictable.
  • Increase in Divorce Rates in 2009 to 2011 as a result of economic stress of 2007 to 2009. (Increase as compared to years past.)
  • Increase in crime rates as compared to years past.
  • Continued Increase in Foreclosures and Bankruptcies.
  • Buyers market will continue throughout 2009.

NOT All is bad! What goes down or becomes depressed will go up and be happier times ahead!

Kim:  I hope your predictions are WAY OFF, but I am afraid they may be close to right on!  I am in the foxhole with my helmet on!

Steve,

I would love to be WRONG for myself and everyone who works their buns off!

I've already started zig-zagging through the mine field of the real estate market and the economic insanity and uncertainity. Ughhh.

Best of the market to you!

Cheers, KIM.  The WebTV Realtor
