Alton NH | August Home Sales Report  - Alton August home sales slid 23.5% from July but rose more than 44% year over year.  Home sales year-to-date were up 32.14% with 74 closed transactions compared to 56 during the same period a year ago.

August dollar sales volume rose nearly 200% year over year, up from $2.047 million last year to a stunning $6.110 million.  For the year to-date, dollar volume was up nearly 99% to an incredible $40.340 million.  

The month of August saw 12 new listings added to inventory,  down 25% from a year ago, when 16 homes were brought to market.  Year-to-date, however, 188 homes were brought to market compared with 181 homes last year, an increase of 3.86  %.  Currently, there are 121 homes available for sale, or a 13.2-month supply of available housing based on an average statistical absorption of 9.2 units per month over the previous 12 months.

Meanwhile, the median price of an Alton home stood at $300,000 in August, an increase of 33.28% year-over-year.  The YTD median home price was also up 14.69% year-over year to $281,000.

Alton homes on average sold no faster in August than in August 2014.  The pace of YTD sales, meanwhile, slowed 13.59% year-over-year, from an average days on market of 145 days to 165 days.
