Rose Hill is a cozy New York City neighborhood tucked between the neighborhoods of Murray Hill to the north and Gramercy Park to the south, Kips Bay to the east, the Flatiron District to the southwest, and NoMad to the northwest.
Madison Square Park anchors the neighborhood's southwest corner, bounded by 23rd Street, 26th Street, Fifth Avenue, and Madison Avenue. The original Madison Square Garden at Madison Square was located at the corner of Madison Avenue and 26th Street, and stood at the site from 1879 to 1890.
The Baruch College and School of Visual Arts campuses and the New York University College of Dentistry are all located in Rose Hill, which boasts several NYC landmarks, including the MetLife Tower and the New York Life Building located on the site of the original Madison Square Garden as well as the Appellate Division of the New York Supreme Court of New York State. The blocks north and west of the park - part of the neighborhood of NoMad - were designated the Madison Square North Historic District in 2001, which covers sections of three blocks on the west side of Broadway as well.
The murals in the Church of St. Stephen were done by legendary painter Constantino Brumidi — known for the U.S. Capitol rotunda’s interior.
Easily accessible via three different subway lines, taking you to just about anywhere you need to go in Manhattan.
