Cane Island Katy Hosts Party Under the Arches
Cane Island a new Master Planned Community located just west of Old or Historic Katy and north of Interstate I-10 is hosting a party Under the Arches on Sunday September 6, 2015. The festivities start at 6 PM and last until 9 PM. This will be unveiling of the Living Arches which are two impressive tunnels made of blooming vines along with synchronized lights lining part of Cane Island blvd.
This event is no charge one and open to the public. Families and attendees will enjoy free ice cream, music and pictures with Dog ambassador Hub. Parking will be available along the new Cane Island Blvd.
City of Katy Mayor Fabol R. Hughes will do the honor of flipping the light switch at 8:20 PM to start the synchronized lights and water features at the cane Island entrance. Starting after this event, Cane Island Arches will be lit every night . The water feature will operate year round.
Currently there are three (3) model homes in Cane Island which are open being Perry Homes, Ryland and Trendmaker. Model homes are in the process being built by Coventry, Toll Brothers, David Weekley and Shea.
I drove through what existed of Cane Island in July and frankly there was not much to talk about or see with a few homes being built and under different stages of construction. I did not ake any pictures. I have seen renditions of what Cane Island will look like and it should be a wonderful neighborhood once it really gets started. The Arch unveiling I think signals the official start of the neighborhood.
