Have You Seen A Beautyberry Bush Before?

Have you seen a beautyberry bush before? The beautyberry bush is a wild bush here in South Florida. It is one of those lovely native plants that you will see on your walks through parks and wild areas as well.

Squirrels love the beautyberry! They will actually cut off a branch with their teeth and carry it up the tree with them. Beautyberries can be eaten by humans as well but are rather bland. I have heard that they make great jam if you add something else with them since they really don't have much of a flavor on their own. As I said, pretty but bland.

Never heard or seen one, but it sounds interesting especially since you can add it to jam.

BJ, sounds like a lot of dames in L---pretty but bland! This one might even be more colorful than some of those blondies in Hollywood.

Barbara Jo, now a peanut butter and beautyberry sandwich on sourdough bread would totally hit the spot right now.

I don't think I have seen one of these before, but they look really nice!  It kind of looks like the lantana that we have here in Arizona.

Barbara-Jo, with that much beauty they can afford to be bland. Besides … the squirrels will have more to eat. We can get our jam from the store.

I’ve never seen or heard of this bush before.
