For almost every year since 1972, the Town of Trumbull CT has held Trumbull Day typically near July 4th. I have attended many, many of these celebrations, and they have always been well planned and delightful from beginning to end.
Starting this year, September 12 and 13, 2015, the celebration will take on a new identity as the Trumbull Fall Festival, a family event highlighting the town's people, local organizations and non-profits.
The venue of the fall festival will be the same as Trumbull Day -- on the fields behind Trumbull High School and will feature a carnival, including ferris wheel, pirate ship, and my favorite.... bumper cars among many others.
There will also be gourmet food vendors, locally brewed beers with a beer and wine garden, live entertainment and a fireworks display..... among other things. Hours will be 2 p.m. - 11 p.m.
Children's entertainer, Les Julian, a DJ and the Highland Rovers Band will be some of the entertainment provided throughout the day on the Main Stage.
Saturday night will end with the spectacular ooh and aah... fireworks show by Pyrotechnico Fireworks. Be sure not to miss this!
Admission is $5 for adults and children over 5.
Absolutely NO backpacks, large bags, coolers or walkin food/beverages. All bags will be subject to inspection.
Then on Sunday, September 12, the 37th annual Trumbull Arts Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 5866 Main Street. This is a rain or shine event. Over 65 artists and crafters will be displaying their talents in the form of artwork, photos, and sculpture.
The arts festival will also feature a Children's Creative Center with the Trumbull Community Women guiding crafts projects at no cost. This is open to children ages 3 and up. An adult must accompany.
This event will also feature live music with Studio Rio and the Survivor Swing Band taking the stage at 12:30 and 2:30 respectively.
The weekend weather outlook looks to be favorable and not so blazing hot as it has been. Come one... come all to enjoy the first Trumbull Fall Festival starting on Saturday, September 12 from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. See you there!! Don't miss it! Get there early on Saturday as there WILL be a lot of traffic coming in later for the fireworks. ENJOY!!!
