If you're looking for a fun event during Labor Day Weekend, why not check out the Matthews Alive Festival 2015? You'll not only have fun, you'll have an opportunity to help the Town of Matthews contribute to Matthews area non-profit organizations. It's worth pointing out that 100% of the proceeds from the festival go to local non-profits. And in fact, the "motto" of this festival is "good times funding good works."
A true Labor Day Weekend tradition in the Charlotte metro area, this is the 23rd year of the Matthews Alive Festival and it's going stronger than ever. The 2014 Matthews Alive Festival raised almost $117,000 for 30+ local non-profits. Obviously, the goal this year would be to raise even more money. In the past 22 years, more than $1.2 million has been contributed to the local community by the town of Matthews from funds raised by this festival.
The Matthews Alive Festival expects to host some 150,000 visitors over this Labor Day Weekend. What can these festival visitors expect to find to do at the festival? For starters:
- 150+ arts and crafts vendors
- 25+ food vendors
- Labor Day Parade (one of the largest in the Southeast)
- Quilt, basket, woodworker shows
- Juried gallery display of artwork by local artists
