Mortgage Fraud Hits the Bay Area

Services for Real Estate Pros with City to City Notary Signing Agent

You may have recently heard of the mortgage fraud that has hit the bay area.  I was just informed two days ago that my dear friend, who lives in Concord, CA, was one of the victims.  He was surprised when he received a notice from the lender that his home will be up for auction next month.  Imagine the shock on his face and the confusion when he thought that he was safe.

The link I have pasted is a true story.  Once you read it, you will know what I am referring to when I say "he thought he was safe".  We are all upset over this news and are trying so desperately to help our friend.  They don't even have any money for food and this person was robbing them each and every month!!!!  He is now working with the district attorney and local sheriff's office.  He may never get the funds back that he gave this person and he may not be able to save his home.

According to my friend, the owner of this shop was a notary and they were notarizing grant deeds.

Read the story and my blog will make sense.

I am posting this story to alert people that fraud exists and to be very careful!

Mortgage fraud has been a huge problem in the Bay Area. Last year I arrange for a prominent Bay Area attorney who specializes in prosecuting fraud to come to Fresno to talk to the Central Valley Escrow Association. It's so sad the number of people who have been victimized.

Thanks for your comment Lisa.  This is an extremely sad situation and I feel so very bad for all the victims.  I am in the process of helping my friend obtain an attorney.  It would be great if you could give me the attorney's name.

Also, if anyone reading my blog knows of an attorney, please let me know.

Thanks so much!
