Trying to Stay Ahead of the Crowd with Marketing
It’s actually not that difficult to stay ahead of the crowd with marketing. The key is to do it. No matter what it is. I am constantly amazed by the number of Realtors and other professionals who believe they will just get business dropping into their laps. Then, there are those who pay money to lead generators to bring the business to them. Well, at least they are doing something and if they get a decent return good for them. But those of us that do our own marketing and do it consistently are already ahead of the game and should be outperforming the majority of the competition.
The problem is that the individual agent sometimes has a difficult time rising to the top when competing with the big budget competition who seem to have an unlimited amount of funding and resources to rise to the top of the search engines. However, as with all real estate, it’s local. And, these big boys will never be able to cover the local market like the individual agent or team can.
So as for me, I need to go to my web page and refresh the content a bit more often with special emphasis on my local long tail keywords. And, at the same time go through many of my local community pages with updates.
I am also gearing up for the next phase of my career which is semi-retirement. So, I am currently looking for able buyers and listing agents that will free me from having to go out of the office in most cases.
And in those same lines, I’m working hard at automating many of the more repetitive daily tasks that we do from social media marketing to blog posting to contact management. I will be hiring an assistant that is licensed and is tech savvy to learn my part of the job.
And, if all goes well, within the next year, possibly two, I will be left with as little or as much as I want to do and be free to travel or take time off while still maintaining a fairly active interest in the business.
